Interior and Technology

Coupe roof styling without losing the X1's practical bones. 560 L petrol boot is bigger than several mid size luxury SUVs. iDrive 9, curved display and wireless CarPlay standard. M35i delivers 233 kW xDrive AWD and a 5.4 second 0 to 100 km/h. iX2 in the same body on the same platform is a one decision EV choice.

Rear headroom takes a hit versus the X1, taller passengers will notice. Climate is touchscreen led, fewer physical controls than older BMWs. M35i pricing crosses into base X3 territory. Driving Assistant Pro is optional, not standard at this money.

  • You need maximum rear headroom (X1 is the answer), you want a hybrid as standard (Lexus LBX), or your budget tops out around $50k.
  • If you carry tall rear passengers regularly, sit in the back before committing to the coupe roof. iX2 buyers should check 130 kW DC charging fits their road trip needs versus Korean rivals.
  • Top trim climbs to $100,400 plus on-roads.
