CarTell take

We haven't driven the Optiq yet. On paper, cadillac is running an introductory $85,000 drive away offer with a home wall charger on MY25 stock bought before 31 October 2026, so compare that against the list price plus on-roads. Also confirm whether the Lyriq's five years of free servicing applies, as Cadillac had not confirmed it for Optiq.

Why consider it

  • On paper it carries a lot of kit for $80,000: dual motor AWD, a 33 inch wraparound display, a 19 speaker AKG system with Dolby Atmos, and front seats that are heated, ventilated and massaging, all as standard.

What to know

  • Australia gets the older 224kW AWD powertrain and a 75kWh battery capped at 110kW DC, while the updated US car has more power and charges at 150kW.
  • 425km WLTP is modest for the money.

Look at the alternatives if fast road trip charging and range matter most. A Tesla Model Y or Audi Q6 e-tron will charge faster on paper, and the Lyriq now starts at $90,000 with a bigger battery.
