What is it

A Ranger built to tow and carry near the limit

The Ford Ranger Super Duty is not a Ranger with heavier springs and a lift kit. It is a genuinely re-engineered, Australian-developed truck built for people who tow and haul serious weight. Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel, deliberately detuned to 154kW and 600Nm so it survives hard work rather than chasing headline numbers.

What makes it a Super Duty is everything around that engine: upgraded axles and chassis hardware, a widened 1,710mm track, eight-stud wheels, an 850mm wading depth and a factory snorkel. For the MY26.5 update the range grows with a new factory-tub Pick-Up body and a premium XLT series, so the same heavy-duty capability now comes with the refinement long-distance tourers want.

The numbers that matter

4,500kg towing, 4,500kg GVM, 8,000kg GCM

Those three figures are the whole point of the Super Duty, and they are all rated from the factory rather than through an aftermarket upgrade. The 4,500kg Gross Vehicle Mass means real payload headroom even with a full cab, and the 8,000kg Gross Combined Mass lets you run a heavy trailer and a loaded tray at the same time, within the rules.

Cab-chassis payloads run up to 1,982kg on the Single Cab, 1,896kg on the Super Cab and 1,825kg on the Double Cab. An onboard scales system helps you load to the limit without guessing.
