What is it?
GWM's retro-styled small electric hatch in its final months of Australian sale. Two grades, Lux and GT, both running a 57.7 kWh LFP battery and a 126 kW front motor. The Ora 5 small SUV replaces it from June 2026, so this car is now a run-out play.
The lineup runs from Lux at $33,990 drive-away, through to GT at $38,990 drive-away. Warranty cover sits at 7 years, unlimited km.
Interior and Technology
7-year unlimited km vehicle warranty plus 8-year unlimited km battery cover, a 57.7 kWh LFP battery good for up to 400 km WLTP, and a heat pump standard for cold-weather range.
228 L boot is small even by city hatch standards, the body is in run-out with no factory replenishment, and the retro styling polarises.
Should you buy the Ora?
Reasons to buy
- 7-year unlimited km vehicle warranty plus 8-year unlimited km battery cover, a 57.7 kWh LFP battery good for up to 400 km WLTP, and a heat pump standard for cold-weather range.
- Warranty: 7 years, unlimited km. Battery: 8 years, unlimited km.
- 5-star ANCAP (2022), full driver-assist suite.
- 228 L (858 L seats down) boot, segment-competitive cargo space.
Reasons to wait
- 228 L boot is small even by city hatch standards, the body is in run-out with no factory replenishment, and the retro styling polarises.
- You need a bigger boot, you regularly road-trip (DC peak is mid-pack), or you want the more practical body the new Ora 5 small SUV will deliver from June 2026.
- Stock is finite. If dealer drive-away pricing dips meaningfully under $33,990, the Lux is the value pick. Buyers who can wait should drive the Ora 5 small SUV when it lands in June 2026.
- Top trim climbs to $38,990 drive-away.
