What is it?
The all-new 2026 Mitsubishi Pajero is confirmed for Australia, with local pricing and grades still to be announced and showrooms expected inside the financial year that runs to March 2027. Revealed in Tokyo on 2 September 2026, it revives the nameplate as a proper ladder-frame, seven-seat diesel four-wheel drive rather than the hybrid many expected. Power comes from a specially developed 2.4 litre clean diesel with a single variable-geometry turbo making up to 480 Nm, paired with a new 8-speed automatic, Super Select 4WD-II, the S-AWC dynamics system, seven drive modes and a low-range transfer case. It measures 4,920 mm long on a 2,870 mm wheelbase with 230 mm of ground clearance, and safety steps up with eight airbags including Mitsubishi's first centre airbag plus the MI-PILOT highway aid. It is pitched squarely at the Toyota LandCruiser Prado and the new Nissan Patrol.
Single grade on offer in Australia. Warranty cover sits at 10 years or 200,000 km conditional (Diamond Advantage), to be confirmed for Pajero.
