What is it?
The 2008 is Peugeot's small SUV on the Stellantis CMP platform, shared with the 208 hatch and Opel Mokka. For MY26 Peugeot Australia has gone hybrid only: every variant runs the 1.2L PureTech with 48V mild-hybrid assistance, combined 100 kW and 230 Nm through an 8-speed e-DCS. Two grades, both FWD: Allure from $42,490 and GT from $49,490, both plus on-roads. No EV e-2008 in Australia. 434 L boot leads the small SUV bracket.
The lineup runs from Allure Hybrid at $42,490 drive-away, through to GT Hybrid at $49,490 drive-away. Warranty cover sits at 5 years, unlimited km.
Interior and Technology
Mild-hybrid drivetrain returns 4.4 L/100 km combined, genuinely competitive with full hybrids. 434 L boot leads the small SUV class. GT adds adaptive matrix LED headlights and 3D animated cluster, rare features at this price.
1,100 kg braked towing trails most rivals. i-Cockpit small wheel and high cluster does not suit every driver. No EV variant for Australia despite the e-2008 selling in Europe. 5-year warranty trails Kia and MG at 7.
Should you buy the 2008?
Reasons to buy
- Mild-hybrid drivetrain returns 4.4 L/100 km combined, genuinely competitive with full hybrids. 434 L boot leads the small SUV class. GT adds adaptive matrix LED headlights and 3D animated cluster, rare features at this price.

Reasons to wait
- 1,100 kg braked towing trails most rivals. i-Cockpit small wheel and high cluster does not suit every driver. No EV variant for Australia despite the e-2008 selling in Europe. 5-year warranty trails Kia and MG at 7.
- You want a full hybrid (Toyota Yaris Cross HEV, Hyundai Kona HEV), an EV variant (e-2008 not sold in AU), or a 7-year warranty (Kia, MG).
- Drive the i-Cockpit setup first. The small-wheel-over-cluster layout is divisive and impossible to know without seat time.
- Top trim climbs to $49,490 drive-away.
