What is it?

The Macan Electric is the second generation Macan, and the first Porsche built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) co-developed with Audi. The petrol Macan has now retired globally, leaving the Electric as the only Macan you can buy new in Australia. PPE is an 800V architecture, delivering 270 kW peak DC charging and a 10 to 80 percent top-up in about 21 minutes. Three drivetrains on one 95 kWh net battery, from $128,400 to $187,300 plus on-roads.

The lineup runs from Macan 4 at $128,400 plus on-roads, through to Macan Turbo at $187,300 plus on-roads. Warranty cover sits at 3 years, unlimited km.

Interior and Technology

800V PPE platform delivers a real 21 minute 10 to 80 DC top-up at 270 kW. Drives like a Porsche on a B road, not just a fast EV. Turbo lands 470 kW and 1,130 Nm for a 3.3 second 0 to 100, and the range tops out at 641 km WLTP on the Macan 4.

3 year vehicle warranty trails most premium EV rivals. Porsche options list adds up quickly, with real on-road pricing often $20,000 or more above sticker. Rear seat room is tight for adults compared with the Audi Q6 e-tron.

Should you buy the Macan Electric?

Reasons to buy

  • 800V PPE platform delivers a real 21 minute 10 to 80 DC top-up at 270 kW. Drives like a Porsche on a B road, not just a fast EV. Turbo lands 470 kW and 1,130 Nm for a 3.3 second 0 to 100, and the range tops out at 641 km WLTP on the Macan 4.
  • Warranty: 3 years, unlimited km (8 years or 160,000 km battery).
  • 540 L (plus 84 L frunk) boot, segment-competitive cargo space.
  • Braked towing rated at 2,000 kg.

Reasons to wait

  • 3 year vehicle warranty trails most premium EV rivals. Porsche options list adds up quickly, with real on-road pricing often $20,000 or more above sticker. Rear seat room is tight for adults compared with the Audi Q6 e-tron.
  • You want a longer factory warranty (most premium EV rivals offer 5 years), more rear seat room (Audi Q6 e-tron is roomier on the same platform), or you would rather buy the platform mate for less (Q6 e-tron starts under the Macan 4).
  • The Macan 4 is the sweet spot for range and price. Most buyers will be better served by it than the Turbo. If badge doesn't matter, the platform mate Audi Q6 e-tron offers similar bones for less money.
  • Top trim climbs to $187,300 plus on-roads.
