Interior and Technology
Segment volume leader since 2019, four body styles cover almost every commercial use case from sparky to shuttle, Toyota Safety Sense and 5-star ANCAP standard.
No hybrid or electric option. Infotainment hardware is a generation behind Toyota's passenger range, and the 2019 ANCAP date is starting to look old.
Should you buy the HiAce?
Reasons to buy
- Segment volume leader since 2019, four body styles cover almost every commercial use case from sparky to shuttle, Toyota Safety Sense and 5-star ANCAP standard.
- Warranty: 5 years, unlimited km.
- 5-star ANCAP (2019), full driver-assist suite.

Reasons to wait
- No hybrid or electric option. Infotainment hardware is a generation behind Toyota's passenger range, and the 2019 ANCAP date is starting to look old.
- You want a PHEV van (Ford Transit Custom), a passenger-feel cabin (Hyundai Staria), or a sharper buy-in (LDV Deliver 9).
- Service intervals of 6 months or 10,000 km are tight for high-km operators. Factor that into running-cost maths.
- Top trim climbs to $73,890 plus on-roads.
