The Haval H2 arrived with one clear pitch, a lot of metal and a long warranty for not a lot of money. This is the small SUV for the buyer who reads the price first and the badge second. It sits below the Mazda CX-3 and Mitsubishi ASX crowd on sticker, and that is the whole point.
Amelia runs it through the everyday stuff, the school car park, the supermarket trolley load, the stop start crawl home. The cabin has more soft touch material than the price suggests, and the boot swallows a week of family clutter. She does flag the thirst at the pump and a gearbox that takes its time making decisions. These are the trade offs you sign up for.
Buy it if value and peace of mind matter more than polish, and you do most of your driving in town. Skip it if you want refinement or a light right foot at the bowser. The H2 is honest about what it is, and there is something to respect in that.
