The 2018 Nissan Qashqai receives a noticeable exterior update that refreshes its look while retaining the familiar proportions that made the original a success. The changes extend to the grille, headlights and bumper design, giving the Qashqai a more contemporary appearance as it prepares to face a new wave of competitors.
The ST-L trim sits in the upper part of the Qashqai range, which will be available in four trim levels with three on sale at launch. For 2018, Nissan drops the diesel engine, leaving buyers with a single 2-litre petrol producing 106 kW and 200 Nm of torque. That decision simplifies the lineup but removes an option some buyers valued.
The Qashqai competes against the Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-3 and Toyota C-HR in the small SUV segment. The 2018 model's updated exterior and refined interior help it stay in contention, and the ST-L trim brings a well-rounded specification to a car that suits city and suburban driving.
