The Cayenne E-Hybrid is for the buyer who wants the Cayenne badge on the driveway and a cleaner conscience in their inbox. Porsche claims EV-only range in E-Power mode that is enough to cover the school run and the Coles trip without touching the petrol engine. In most other respects it is still a Cayenne: composed, capable, and built with the kind of finish that makes the price feel less absurd.

Simone found the transition between electric and petrol smooth enough that you stop noticing it exists. The Cayenne E-Hybrid is more at home on blacktop than on a fire trail, and that matched Simone's test week. It handles Australian urban driving well, with regen braking adjustable enough to feel natural. The weight from the battery pack is there if you push the car, but in daily use it disappears.

If you are already in the market for a Cayenne, the E-Hybrid makes a compelling case. The all-electric range is modest against the price tag, but the driving character is intact and the fuel bills across a week of suburban running were noticeably lower. Hard to argue with that as a package.
