The Sorento PHEV is the first plug-in hybrid in Kia's seven-seat SUV range, sharing its powertrain with the Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV. The GT-Line is the top trim with the full luxury and ADAS pack.
What you are buying
A 1.6 L turbo petrol four paired with a 67 kW electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery. Combined system output is 195 kW. WLTP range in EV-only mode is around 57 km, which is enough for most daily city commutes.
Cartell Assessment
The PHEV Sorento is the seven-seater for the buyer who wants to plug in at home and avoid daily petrol fills. The compromise is the price, which is properly steep against the petrol V6 Sorento that still does the school run perfectly well.
