The C40 Recharge is Volvo's coupe-roofed take on the XC40 Recharge EV. Built on the same CMA platform as the petrol XC40, but with a sloping rear, dual-motor AWD, and Volvo's most aggressive electric styling to date.

What you are buying

A 78 kWh battery, dual motors making a combined 300 kW and 660 Nm, and a WLTP range of around 444 km. Charging tops out at 150 kW DC. Inside, the C40 uses Volvo's Google-native infotainment with Google Maps and Assistant built in.

Cartell Assessment

The C40 Recharge is for the buyer who wants Tesla-like performance and Volvo-like cabin polish without choosing one. The coupe roofline costs you about 50 mm of rear headroom, which only matters if your back-row passengers are over six feet. Otherwise it is a properly quick, properly calm electric SUV with a distinct look.

AU Outlook
