The EX30 is the smallest Volvo ever made, and the cheapest electric Volvo on sale. Built on the SEA platform shared with the Smart #1 and Zeekr X, it is a compact SUV that punches well above its size with the Dual Motor Performance trim hitting 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

What you are buying

A 69 kWh battery in the Performance trim, dual motors making a combined 315 kW and 543 Nm, and a WLTP range of around 450 km. Ultra trim adds the panoramic glass roof, the Harman Kardon audio, the upgraded driver assistance, and the chrome detailing.

Cartell Assessment

The EX30 is the small EV that does the Volvo brand promise properly: calm, quiet, safe, and surprisingly quick when you want it to be. The cabin layout takes some adjusting (the central screen does everything) but once you adapt, it works. The compromise is the firm ride on the Performance suspension.

AU Outlook

EX30 Dual Performance Ultra pricing in Australia sits around $73,990 drive-away. The single-motor Plus is in the low-$60k bracket. Cross-shop is the BMW iX2 eDrive20, the Smart #1, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
