The EV3 is the car the Australian electric vehicle market has been quietly waiting for. Not the cheapest EV. Not the longest-range. Just the most sensible — a small electric SUV that finally does what people thought EVs were supposed to do all along.

The Long Range battery is the spec to buy. 605 km of WLTP range translates to a real-world figure north of 480 km on the highway, which is more than enough for a Sydney-to-Newcastle trip with charge to spare. The 102 kW peak DC charging isn't class-leading, but it's enough to top up at a coffee stop without drama.

The Earth trim is where the package clicks. Heat pump as standard (critical for Aussie winters in Melbourne and Canberra), V2L for camping or blackouts, a usable head-up display, and the most comfortable rear seat in any small EV under $70k. Don't push to GT-Line unless you specifically want the look — Earth is where the money is best spent.
