Hyundai has also recalled 11,461 examples of the Hyundai Tucson over a software fault in the dashboard. The recall (REC-006717) covers all variants of the NX4 Tucson built between 2023 and 2026, and it is separate from the emergency braking recall that hit the same model earlier in the year.
Speed and fuel readouts can drop out
The defect sits in the software for the instrument panel cluster and the head-up display. Both can fail to show the vehicle speed, the fuel level and other critical safety information. Losing those readings while driving raises the risk of a crash, which is why the regulator has listed it as a safety recall rather than a convenience fix. The remedy is a free software update at an authorised Hyundai dealer, and Hyundai says some owners may be eligible for an over-the-air update instead. Check your VIN at vehiclerecalls.gov.au and call 1800 186 306 to arrange it.
