Hyundai Australia has recalled 2,242 examples of the 2026 Palisade over the power-folding second and third-row seats. Under some conditions the system may fail to detect a person or object and keep folding when it should stop. The recall follows a fatal incident in the United States involving a two-year-old child, which prompted Hyundai to pause Palisade deliveries while it developed a fix.
What owners get
An interim software update is now rolling out in Australia. It can be applied over the air or at a dealer, and it makes the folding system stop when it senses resistance. A further update is expected to follow. Hyundai will contact affected owners directly.
