Nissan X-Trail

It is also the only one of the three you can option with a third row for occasional seven seat duty. Roomy, comfortable, and often sharply priced.
Kia Sportage
The value champion. The biggest back seat and boot of the three, a sharp interior, and the longest warranty at seven years. Petrol and hybrid options are available. If your budget is the first filter and you want the most space and cover for the money, this is the one.

The verdict
If you keep cars a long time and value the lowest fuss, the RAV4 is the safe money, and the resale makes the premium back. If you want the most space and the longest warranty for the least outlay, the Sportage is the smart buy. The X-Trail is the one to drive if the e-POWER hybrid or the seven seat option speaks to you, and it often lands a deal the other two will not match.
