What is it?

The G82 M4 is BMW M division's two-door Competition coupe, paired in Australia with the G83 Convertible. Both run the S58 3.0L twin-turbo inline six. The base M4 Pure delivers 353 kW with a 6-speed manual and RWD. The M4 Competition steps to 390 kW with the 8-speed M Steptronic and is the only path into M xDrive AWD with a 2WD defeat mode. M4 CS sits on top at 405 kW, capped at 50 units for Australia with a 7:21.989 Nordschleife lap claim.

The lineup runs from M4 Pure at $173,400 plus on-roads, through to M4 CS at $254,900 plus on-roads. Warranty cover sits at 5 years, unlimited km.

Interior and Technology

S58 inline six is the most powerful production M4 engine ever, at up to 405 kW in the CS. RWD manual still offered in the Pure for purists. xDrive AWD with selectable 2WD rear-drive mode for track days. CS capped at 50 units in Australia with a 7:21.989 Nordschleife lap claim.

Polarising big-kidney grille still divides buyers. Manual only on the lower-output Pure, not the 390 kW Competition. Convertible adds 200 kg over the coupe and blunts the chassis. $194,100 Competition xDrive lands close to the previous M4 CS money.
