What is it?

The Bronco Basecamp is the first electrified Bronco, and it is coming to Australia in the second half of 2027. Think of it as a proper adventure SUV with a caravan built into its brain: a Pop-Up Lift Roof, a bed that folds out of the cabin, a fridge-slash-warmer in the console and a Wild Kitchen in the tailgate. Under the skin it runs Ford's new super-hybrid setup, which is really a range extender. You drive on the electric motors and a 1.5L turbo petrol engine quietly tops the battery back up, so you get EV smoothness with a combined range Ford reckons will land between 800 and 900 km. Park it up and it becomes an off-grid power station, with up to 6.6 kW on tap to run an induction cooktop, a coffee machine, the lot. Pricing, variants and exact timing come closer to launch.
