Ford
Mid-size van
From $56,590 plus on-road costs
The Transit Custom is the mid-size van with the widest set of options in Australia.
We haven't driven the Transit Custom yet. On paper, Ford has announced 2027.25MY price cuts of $3,900 on the PHEV and E-Transit Custom, with a larger E-Transit battery. That brings them to $63,990 to $66,390 (PHEV) and $73,990 to $76,390 (EV) before on-road costs, with the EV due from March 2027 and the PHEV from May 2027, so ask a dealer which build you are being quoted. Ford's own estimate for a Trend SWB is $63,989 drive-away (postcode 2000, business use). The Sport Double Cab crew van and the Tourneo are not covered here. Ford's genuine towbar is rated to 2,500 kg only.
Tradies and small business owners who want one van that can do site work, towing and city deliveries, and fleet buyers looking to electrify part of the fleet without changing van.

Look at the alternatives if you need a large van's cargo space, or you want a cheaper entry point and can live without the 13-inch screen and driver assistance tech.
The Transit Custom is the mid-size van with the widest set of options in Australia. You can get diesel, plug-in hybrid or the fully electric E-Transit Custom, two wheelbases, and an all-wheel drive Trail. On paper the diesel pairs 125 kW with up to 1,245 kg payload and 2,800 kg towing, and Ford says it set the highest score ever recorded in ANCAP's 2024 commercial van comparison.
