Audi has priced the new A6 Allroad for Australia, and for the first time the rugged wagon offers a plug-in hybrid. The e-hybrid quattro opens the range at $127,900 before on-road costs, which undercuts the diesel version by a full $10,000.

Plug-in power, diesel backup

The A6 Allroad e-hybrid pairs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder with an electric motor for a combined 270kW and 500Nm. Its 25.9kWh battery (20.7kWh usable) is good for up to 87km of electric running, and it charges at up to 11kW on AC. Buyers who want the old-school option can still choose the 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel, which makes 220kW and 580Nm with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance and costs $137,900. Both use quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic. The plug-in sits $1,500 above the old diesel-only Allroad. See the Audi A6 Allroad page for the full picture.

Cartell Assessment

Making the cleaner, cheaper car the entry point is a smart move. An 87km electric range covers most commutes before the petrol engine ever wakes up.

AU Outlook

The A6 Allroad is due in Australian showrooms in the first half of 2027. A Premium package adds $9,900.
