Renault has confirmed the facelifted Megane E-Tech for Australia, and it returns in a single Esprit Alpine grade priced at $55,990 before on-road costs. That is $1,000 above the price Renault has asked since 2024, and the money buys a meaningfully longer driving range.

Bigger battery, longer range

The headline change is a 67kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, up from the old 60kWh nickel manganese cobalt pack. WLTP range climbs to 480km from 454km. The single front-mounted motor makes 160kW and 300Nm, AC charging rises to 11kW, and DC fast charging now peaks at 165kW. Renault has also added vehicle-to-load, stronger one-pedal braking, and over-the-air updates.

Inside, a 12-inch touchscreen replaces the old 9.0-inch unit, running Google built-in with the Gemini assistant, paired with a nine-speaker Harman Kardon system. The Renault Megane E-Tech directory entry has the full rundown.

Cartell Assessment

Renault is charging a small premium for a much more complete car. The bigger LFP battery and faster charging matter more day to day than the new wheels and bumper.

AU Outlook

Order books are open now, with first deliveries due in the first half of 2027. A $200 deposit before December 31, 2026 adds a 7kW home charger worth $749.
