The Ford Everest cops the same surgery as its Ranger twin for MY26.5. The 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel is gone, along with the Ambiente and Trend grades, and in their place sits a new entry Active. Prices are plus on-road costs and were checked against Ford Australia on 16 September 2026.
What the Active brings
The Active opens the range at $58,990, and standard kit includes leather upholstery, a 12-inch touchscreen, 18-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, tyre pressure monitoring and automatic LED headlights. Under the bonnet it uses the same 125kW and 405Nm single-turbo 2.0-litre diesel that replaces the bi-turbo across the range. The more important change for families is that the 184kW 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel is now available on every grade, including the base Active, so the engine buyers cross-shop against a Prado or an MU-X is no longer locked behind the pricier trims.
Cartell Assessment
A fresh base model with real equipment, a simpler engine story and V6 access from the bottom of the range is a smart reset for a big seller. Buyers who want the Isuzu MU-X and Prado experience without stretching to a top grade are the clear winners here.
AU Outlook
Orders open in December, with deliveries due mid-2026. Rival large SUVs will have to answer the Active's value pitch, and the wider MY26.5 update should keep the Everest near the top of its class.
