Honda is reportedly rushing its next Honda CR-V. According to a Nikkei report, the company will bring launch and production of the new-generation SUV forward to February 2027, with the Toyota RAV4, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson squarely in its sights.
Hybrid first
The new CR-V is expected to use an upgraded version of Honda's next-generation hybrid system, and the report suggests it could go hybrid-only, dropping plain petrol versions in the same way Toyota has with the latest RAV4. No Australian pricing or local launch timing has been confirmed, and the February 2027 date refers to the global program.
