The all-new Nissan Patrol Y63 has reached a real milestone: right-hand-drive production has started in Japan, and the first Australian-bound examples are coming off the line. Nissan Oceania says it has already converted more than 500 confirmed orders with deposits, from around 2,500 earlier expressions of interest.

From the line to your driveway in early 2027

Nissan has confirmed first Australian deliveries for the first quarter of 2027. The Y63 drops the old V8 for a 3.5 litre twin-turbo V6 petrol making 317kW and 700Nm through a nine-speed automatic, and braked towing climbs to 3,700kg, up from 3,500kg. Pricing runs from the Ti at $98,990 before on-road costs to the Ti-L Reserve at $145,990, and about 70 per cent of early orders are for the top Ti-L Reserve and Pro-4X grades. The Nissan Patrol opens just under the entry Toyota LandCruiser 300 and out-pulls it on the tow rating.

Cartell Assessment

The order bank tells the story: buyers waited years for this car, and they are reaching for the dear end of the range, not the cheap one. A V6 Patrol that tows more than a LandCruiser 300 and starts below it is a real fight in the large four-wheel-drive class.

AU Outlook

Watch for the delivery window to firm up as production ramps, and for Toyota to respond on LandCruiser pricing. If the first-quarter 2027 timing holds, the Patrol lands into a market where the 300 Series has had the premium end largely to itself.
