The new Patrol is priced from $98,990, and Toyota should be nervous

Nissan Australia has put numbers on the new Y63 Patrol, and the headline is sharper than anyone expected. The range opens at $98,990 before on-roads for the eight-seat Ti, just $280 under the Toyota LandCruiser 300 GX, and only $2,450 more than the old V8 car it replaces.

Six grades, one engine

The lineup runs Ti ($98,990), Ti+ ($109,480), Ti-L ($122,690), Ti-L+ ($134,690), the off-road focused Pro-4X ($137,590) and the flagship Ti-L Reserve ($145,990), all before on-roads. Every grade uses the same 3.5 litre twin-turbo petrol V6 making 317kW and 700Nm through a nine-speed automatic, with full-time four-wheel drive, a dual-range transfer case and a locking rear differential standard. Braked towing rises 200kg to 3,700kg. The Pro-4X and Ti-L Reserve add height-adjustable air suspension, and the new grade brings all-terrain tyres and a unique three-slot grille.

Cartell Assessment

Nissan was tipped to open around $110,000, so landing under the LandCruiser GX is a deliberate shot at Toyota. The V6 out-punches the LandCruiser diesel on power, and the value equation that carried the Y62 for 13 years is intact.

AU Outlook

Orders are open now through Nissan dealers, with first deliveries due early in 2027. Expect long queues for the Ti and Pro-4X.
