Ram Trucks Australia has recalled 1,262 examples of the 2026 Ram 1500, all from the 2026 build, over a seatbelt fault in the second row.

The buckle may not hold when it matters

According to the notice on the government recall portal, the seatbelt buckles in the second-row centre and left-side seating positions may not operate as intended. In a crash, that increases the risk of injury for whoever is sitting back there, which is exactly when a seatbelt needs to do its one job.

The Australian campaign is part of a global recall covering roughly 1.5 million Ram 1500 trucks over a seatbelt buckle anchor issue. Owners will be contacted in writing and directed to an authorised Ram dealer, where the fix is free.

Cartell Assessment

It is the second Ram recall in Australia this week, following a small stability control campaign for the 2500, and this one is far bigger and far more serious. Rear seats are where kids sit. Book it in.

AU Outlook

Check your VIN against the recall notice at vehiclerecalls.gov.au. If your 1500 is on the list, the call to the dealer costs nothing and the buckle fix does not either.
