The Trek Allant+ 7 has been in the market long enough to earn a reputation. This is the commuter e-bike serious riders buy when they want the job done right. The 2026 model is currently on sale at $3,999.99 at Bicycle Express, down from $4,999.99.

What you get for the money

The motor is a Bosch Performance Line CX with 85 Nm of torque. On a commuter, that means the hill at the end of your suburb is irrelevant. Bosch's smart system connects via the Purion 200 display: compact, clean, readable without taking your eyes off the road.

The battery is the Bosch PowerTube 500 Wh, integrated into the downtube. Real-world urban range sits at 60 to 80 km on a mix of eco and tour modes. The battery removes from the frame for charging, which matters if you live in an apartment and cannot bring the whole bike inside.

The fork is an SR Suntour XCR32 with 63 mm of coil travel and a lockout lever. On a commuter, that fork absorbs the kerb drop, the tram track, and the pothole you did not see. Lock it out on long flat sections for efficiency.

Drivetrain is Shimano CUES U4000, nine-speed. Brakes are Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc with 180 mm rotors. Both are appropriate for a bike in this weight class: 25.5 kg.

What is included

Trek fits the Allant+ 7 with integrated front and rear lighting powered from the main battery, SKS mudguards front and rear, a MIK-compatible alloy rear rack rated to 25 kg, and a kickstand. It arrives ready to commute.

The compliance question

The Allant+ 7 is a Class 1 EPAC. Motor is 250W continuous rated, pedal-assist only, assistance cuts at 25 km/h. It is compliant in every Australian state, including under Queensland's July 2026 rules. The QLD legislation targets non-compliant, high-powered devices. A bike like this is exactly what it was designed to permit.

Who it suits

The Allant+ 7 works well for riders covering 15 to 40 km per day on mixed urban terrain, particularly where gradient is a factor. The suspension fork and torque sensor motor make the ride responsive rather than just fast. A lowstep frame variant is also available.

At $3,999.99 in the current sale, it sits against the Aventon Level 3 and the Lekker Amsterdam+. It outperforms both on motor quality and component specification. The trade-off is weight: at 25.5 kg, this is not a bike you carry upstairs.
