What is it?
The second-generation ASX is built on Renault's CMF-B platform and is essentially a re-skinned Captur with Mitsubishi front-end design. Three powertrains run in Australia: 1.0L turbo petrol three, 1.3L turbo petrol four, and a 1.6L full hybrid. FWD only, drive-away pricing across the range, 10-year conditional warranty.
The lineup runs from ES 1.0T 6MT at $26,490 drive-away, through to Exceed HEV at $40,990 drive-away. Warranty cover sits at 10 years, 200,000 km (conditional on Mitsubishi servicing).
Interior and Technology
10-year conditional warranty and 10 years of capped-price servicing when serviced in network. Drive-away pricing across the range. Three engine choices including a hybrid grade returning 4.7 L per 100 km combined.
No all-wheel drive option, interior plastics and rear space lag behind Korean rivals, and the 1.0T 6MT is genuinely slow when fully loaded.
