Look at the alternatives if you need a diesel or more payload. The Caddy Cargo TDI320 is the obvious rival. Or you want a cheaper EV, such as Ford's $50,000 drive-away Transit City.
The Kangoo is Renault's small van, now with a 1.3 litre turbo petrol automatic claiming 6.2 L/100km, and short and long wheelbases holding 3.3 to 4.2 m3. The Kangoo E-Tech swaps in a 45 kWh battery for up to 286 km WLTP. On paper both tow 1.5 tonnes, which is strong for the class.
