The Jaguar F-Pace is the brand's most successful model in Australia, and the 25d diesel in R-Sport trim is its more accessible variant. CarTell reviewed the 30d previously, so this return to the F-Pace with the 25d gives a clear view of what buyers give up when they choose the lower-output engine at a lower price point.
Jenny found the F-Pace 25d R-Sport still convincing as a daily driver. The diesel's torque output is more than sufficient for Australian urban and highway conditions, and the difference in feel versus the 30d is small enough that most buyers would not notice it without a direct back-to-back comparison. The R-Sport interior is well-equipped, the ride manages Australian bitumen well, and the Jaguar cabin experience is intact.
The F-Pace 25d R-Sport earns its place on the shortlist for the luxury SUV buyer who wants Jaguar character at a price that stops short of the range-topper. It is a satisfying daily car. Buyers who spend time towing or need the extra performance margin on long highway drives should look at the 30d.
