The Hyundai i30 Sedan, sold internationally as the Elantra, occupies an increasingly rare space in the Australian market: the mid-size sedan that is not a rental-car special. The N Line variant adds body kit, sport-tuned suspension and an interior that signals sporty intent without requiring the full N performance package and price. It is aimed at buyers who want a sedan with some visual ambition.
Jenny puts the N Line through its paces on Australian roads and finds a car that rewards spirited driving without punishing the daily commute. The suspension tune is firmer than the standard Elantra but not to the point of discomfort on potholed suburban streets. The interior step-up over the base model is noticeable and the cabin layout is clean and functional.
The i30 Sedan N Line makes a case for sedans in an SUV-dominated market. It looks sharper than the standard car, drives better and does not cost dramatically more. Buyers who have already decided they want an SUV will not be swayed. For everyone else who is open to a sedan, this is a worthwhile option.
