The Isuzu D-MAX X-Terrain is the version that wears a full equipment list and asks you to take it seriously as a do-everything vehicle. It is the spec that Isuzu was betting would pull buyers away from the HiLux Rogue and the Ranger Wildtrak. In 2021, the D-MAX had just come through a significant generation change.
Jenny takes it to the beach, which is exactly the kind of test that earns a ute its reputation in Australia. The X-Terrain gets sand under the tyres, the diff locks get a workout, and the interior quality gets assessed against the claim that this is a dual-cab you can use as a family vehicle day to day. The D-MAX handles all of it with the confidence of a ute that knows what is expected.
If you need a dual-cab that works on a worksite during the week and a beach on the weekend without compromising either, the D-MAX X-Terrain is worth the test drive. The price sits above the base model by a meaningful margin. The feature list justifies most of it.
