The i30 Sedan N is Hyundai's first proper performance sedan in Australia, known in other markets as the Elantra N. Same 2.0 L turbo petrol as the i30 N hatch, same N-tuned suspension, same eight-speed dual-clutch automatic with manual mode.

What you are buying

A 2.0 L turbo petrol four making 206 kW and 392 Nm, paired with an eight-speed DCT (manual is available in some markets but not Australia), driving the front wheels through Hyundai's e-LSD. The N-specific bodywork, the bespoke suspension tune, and the bigger brakes are all here.

Cartell Assessment

The i30 Sedan N is for the buyer who wants i30 N performance but in a four-door body. It is brilliant to drive, properly fast, and the cabin holds up better than the equivalent Civic Type R Sedan. The compromise is the slightly polarising styling and the firm ride.

AU Outlook

i30 Sedan N pricing in 2022 sat at $49,990 drive-away. Cross-shop is the Subaru WRX and the Honda Civic Type R.
