Audi has taken the knife to its Q6 e-tron range in Australia, repricing the mid-size electric SUV for model year 2027 to slip under key luxury-car tax and EV incentive thresholds.
The new numbers
The MY27 Q6 e-tron now opens at $89,900 before on-road costs in both SUV and Sportback body styles, a cut of $9,918 from the outgoing $99,818. The performance flagship gets the bigger swing: the SQ6 e-tron SUV drops $21,418 to $129,900 plus on-roads, while the SQ6 Sportback falls by the same amount to $134,900. Audi says the lower pricing lets more buyers claim government EV incentives and benefit from the higher luxury-car tax threshold. Production of the revised Q6 e-tron starts in October 2026, with first Australian deliveries due in the first half of 2027.
Cartell Assessment
This is pricing catching up with reality. Chinese and Korean rivals have reset what a premium electric SUV costs, and a near $10,000 cut on the base Q6, plus a huge $21,418 off the SQ6, makes Audi's German badge far easier to justify against a BMW iX3.
AU Outlook
Expect the rest of Audi's electric range to keep drifting down. The brand has already repositioned several EV lines locally, and the luxury-car tax threshold is doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
