Nissan will open order books for the new Y63 Patrol before the end of August, with first Australian deliveries due early in 2027. Australia is the first right hand drive market in the world to get it.
The V8 is gone
The long serving 5.6 litre petrol V8 is finished. In its place sits a 3.5 litre twin-turbo petrol V6 making 317kW and 700Nm. Purists will mourn the soundtrack, but the new engine beats the old V8 on every number that matters: more power, more torque, and it delivers that torque lower in the rev range.

The Patrol has spent years as the value alternative to the LandCruiser 300, and it did that with an engine design that dated back well over a decade. The Y63 changes the conversation. With 317kW and 700Nm it out-muscles the LandCruiser's 3.3 litre diesel V6 on power, and Nissan getting right hand drive first shows how much Australia matters to this model. Pricing will decide whether it converts LandCruiser intenders, and that is the number to watch when order books open.
AU Outlook
Orders open late August 2026, deliveries from early 2027. If you want one in the first batch, get your name down early: the current Patrol has been supply constrained for years, and a new generation with this much hype will not be different.
