Kia has blinked on price for its slow-selling ute. The brand is taking $5,000 off the Tasman SX 4WD, which now lands at $49,990 drive-away, with the SX+ 4WD cut to $54,990 drive-away. It is 2025-build stock only, and the cars must be ordered and delivered in November.

The offer and the fine print

The Kia Tasman SX 4WD is the pick of the deal at $49,990 drive-away, down from a $54,490 list price before on-road costs, so compare on a like-for-like basis before you sign. ABN buyers also get $5,000 off the S and SX cab-chassis fitted with an alloy tray. The mechanical package is unchanged: a 2.2 litre turbo-diesel making 154kW and 440Nm, an eight-speed automatic, dual-range four-wheel drive and a 3,500kg braked towing rating.

Cartell Assessment

The Tasman has struggled to find buyers all year, with well under 400 sold in its first nine months against hopes of 20,000 a year. A four-wheel drive ute at $49,990 drive-away is a sharp number, and this is Kia accepting that the only way into a HiLux and Ranger market is to be the keenest on price.

AU Outlook

The November window makes this a clearance of 2025 plate rather than a permanent reset, so expect a fresh 2026 price position once it closes. If a Tasman suits your needs, this is the month to buy one.
