Smart has locked in Australian pricing for the #5, its largest electric SUV, and it lands right on top of the Tesla Model Y. The range opens at $58,900 before on-road costs for the Pro+, steps up to $63,900 for the Premium and tops out at $73,900 for the Brabus.
What you get
Every #5 uses a 100kWh battery (94kWh usable). The rear-drive Pro+ and Premium make 267kW and are rated at 590km on the WLTP cycle, while the all-wheel-drive Brabus makes 475kW, covers 540km and runs 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. DC charging peaks at a strong 400kW, and deliveries start in November 2026.
Cartell Assessment
The pricing is pointed. The Pro+ matches the Tesla Model Y at $58,900 and sits about $1,000 above the base Zeekr 7X, so Smart is buying its way into a crowded mid-size EV class with a big battery and a sharp number.
AU Outlook
At this money the #5 has to beat the Model Y on space and charging speed, because the badge does not yet carry the same pull here. November deliveries will show whether the launch price is enough.
