What is it?

The LDV T60 is the brand's full-size 4x4 dual cab ute, built by SAIC in China and sold in Australia through Ateco. 2.0L bi-turbo diesel four, ZF 8-speed automatic, part-time 4WD with low range, rear locking diff on Max grades. 3,000 kg braked towing, 7-year warranty.

The lineup runs from T60 Pro at $38,500 plus on-roads, through to T60 Max Pro at $52,500 plus on-roads. Warranty cover sits at 7 years, unlimited km.

Interior and Technology

Entry T60 Pro at $38,500 plus on-roads is several thousand under any equivalent 4x4 Ranger or HiLux. 7-year unlimited-km warranty matches Kia and Mahindra, and the 2.0 bi-turbo diesel pairs with a ZF 8-speed auto.

3,000 kg braked towing trails the established Japanese utes. ANCAP 5 stars but against the older 2017 protocol. Ride is firmer than segment leaders, especially unladen.

Should you buy the T60?

  • Warranty: 7 years, unlimited km.
  • 5-star ANCAP (2017), full driver-assist suite.
  • Braked towing rated at 3,000 kg.

Reasons to wait

  • 3,000 kg braked towing trails the established Japanese utes. ANCAP 5 stars but against the older 2017 protocol. Ride is firmer than segment leaders, especially unladen.
  • You tow above 3,000 kg (Ranger, HiLux and D-Max all rate 3,500 kg), want the newest ANCAP protocol (the T60 was tested in 2017) or want Japanese-grade resale.
  • If you genuinely need 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, the T60 is short. Check your nearest Ateco-backed LDV dealer for regional service support.
  • Top trim climbs to $52,500 plus on-roads.
