Interior and Technology
PHEV with about 100 km WLTP plus DC fast charging is rare in the medium SUV class, and the Tiguan R offers 235 kW hot-SUV performance for under $75,000 plus on-roads.
ANCAP rating is still to come for the new generation, and the 5-year warranty trails Kia and MG on cover.
Should you buy the Tiguan?

- Touch-and-haptic controls have a steeper learning curve than Korean rivals. Spend time with the smart dial and shortcut bar before committing.
- Top trim climbs to $74,990 plus on-roads.
