Honda's first fully electric model is about to reach Australian driveways. Customer deliveries of the Super-ONE begin on 1 October, priced from $36,900 drive-away for the entry car and $37,400 drive-away for the Two-Tone, which adds Violet Boost paint and a blackout roof.
A kei car with attitude
The Super-ONE is based on the Japanese-market N-One and measures under 3,600mm long, so it is built for tight city streets. A 29.6kWh battery feeds a single front motor making 47kW and 162Nm, with a Boost mode that lifts output to 70kW. Range is up to 253km, 0 to 100km/h takes 14.5 seconds, and a 15 to 80 per cent DC charge takes about 30 minutes. At 1,093kg it is light for an EV.
Move quickly
Honda has taken more than 6,500 expressions of interest, but fewer than 130 cars are allocated for 2026, with more supply due in early 2027. Ownership includes a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance and capped servicing at $199 a year for five years or 50,000km.
Cartell Assessment
At $36,900 drive-away the Super-ONE is not the cheapest small EV. The BYD Atto 1 now starts at $19,990 drive-away, the Geely EX2 is cheaper again on list, and the Hyundai Inster plays in similar territory. Honda is selling character, not a price leader.
AU Outlook
This is a toe in the water, not a volume play. If the first 130 sell out fast, expect Honda to talk louder about EVs in 2027.
