Hyundai is sending off its i30 Sedan N with a darkened special edition, and Australia gets just 200 of them. The i30 Sedan N Monochrome lands this month at $60,500 before on-road costs.
What the $5,000 premium buys
That is about $5,000 above a loaded i30 Sedan N, and every dollar goes on the look rather than the engine. The Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome adds 19 inch black forged wheels, brake calipers finished in black, darker trim on the bumper, sills and diffuser, bare carbon fibre mirror caps and spoiler, and Alcantara on the wheel and shifter. Mechanically nothing changes: the 2.0 litre turbo four still makes 206kW and 392Nm to the front wheels, with a six speed manual or eight speed dual clutch at the same price. Two colours are offered, Performance Blue at no cost and Abyss Black Pearl for $595.
Cartell Assessment
It is a cosmetic run-out, not a hotter N, so the value case rests on how much you want the stealth look and the exclusivity of 200 cars. Keen drivers lose nothing dynamically.
AU Outlook
A new generation i30 Sedan is due in the first half of 2027, so this is the current car's last hurrah. Expect the 200 allocation to move quickly among N collectors.
