MG has put $1,000 cashback on its MG ZS Hybrid+, and the calendar is the catch. The offer applies to cars sold and delivered between 11 and 30 September 2026. Drive-away figures were checked against MG Australia on 16 September 2026.

The numbers

The ZS Excite Hybrid+ is $30,990 drive away, dropping to $29,990 after the $1,000 cashback, and the flagship Essence Hybrid+ falls from $34,490 to $33,490. Those drive-away prices include 12 months registration, compulsory third-party insurance, maximum dealer delivery and estimated stamp duty, and the offer excludes fleet, government and rental buyers. The Hybrid+ pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 100kW electric motor and a 3-speed hybrid transmission for 158kW combined, carries a 5-star ANCAP rating from 2025, and is backed by MG's 10-year, 250,000km warranty.

Cartell Assessment

A hybrid family SUV in showrooms now for under $30,000 drive away is small-SUV money for a car that already sells in big numbers here. With MG also trimming the MG3, HS and its EVs this month, and rivals discounting into the end of the quarter, sitting on your hands past 30 September looks like the expensive option.

AU Outlook

Expect the GWM Haval H6 and other value hybrids to keep the pressure on. If the ZS Hybrid+ is on your list, the deadline, not the dealer, is the reason to move.
